The Minded Institute offers an accredited Minded Yoga Therapy Professional Training. Geared towards yoga teachers, health professionals and psychotherapists, this is a pioneering program for those interested in delving deeper into the benefits, mechanisms, and clinical applications of mind-body practices such as yoga and mindfulness for mental health care.
Our multi-faceted training is an interdisciplinary approach to well-being combining the wisdom of the Yogic and Buddhist traditions with neuroscientific, psychological and physiological perspectives on mind, brain and mental health care. This integration of age-old wisdom and cutting-edge science is the imperative as we begin to appreciate the relationship between mind and body and stress and disease. As research continues to highlight the power of meditation and body-based interventions in the treatment of various conditions, we are starting to understand the importance of, and also the appropriate application of mind-body practices in the treatment of both mental health and chronic disease. By empowering you with the knowledge and skills to understand how to work with mental health conditions in a clear and evidence-based way, you will learn how to devise and deliver treatment regimens that are multi-dimensional, compassionate, and truly effective. We are research Minded, compassionately Minded, spiritually Minded. The world of mental health care is changing. Here at The Minded Institute, we wish to support you in being part of this change.
Graduates are qualified as Minded Yoga Therapists and are certified to offer one-on-one yoga therapy, teach the renowned 8-week Minded Yoga Therapy course, and devise their own approaches for emotional healing. Further, graduates understand how to adapt the Minded Yoga Therapy model to work with other health conditions beyond the scope of mental health.
As a yoga therapist, you will be able to offer this specialized style of yoga to groups and individuals. You will be guiding individuals in how to use yoga and mindfulness to work with their own bodies and minds towards improved mental health. Further, you will experience for yourself how yoga-based techniques informed by modern science and mindful awareness can transform the way you work with your own mind. In taking your own journey into both the body and mind, you will be even more able to assist others in the same process.
Trainees are taught to assist clients and students in regulating their nervous systems through breath work, asana practice, social engagement and therapeutic interaction, while simultaneously supporting deep personal transformation through awareness of mind and self-view. The course is intellectually rigorous, but delivered in a digestible format by all of our wonderful lecturers. And of course students receive support as well as clinical supervision to fully master the material taught. Learning includes personal exploration, academic study, partner work and group activities.
We are currently accrediting with the British Council of Yoga Therapists under its rigorous new standards.
Training Duration: 500 contact hours
